Republic of Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik has stated that the RS is not internationally recognized by the UN by that it has its international credibility. He added that the credibility stemmed from the Dayton Accords and that the RS was on the EU pathway. “RS has international credibility” “It is important that an attempt to abolish the RS with operations of high UN representatives, who are violating the Dayton Accords rights, has been prevented and they also tried to redraw the lines at our expense,” Dodik told Skopje-based daily Dnevnik. He pointed out that the RS was committed to the EU integration process, that it was a part of Europe but that it must not hinder its cooperation with Russia and other countries. Dodik explained that Banja Luka and Belgrade worked together as partners. He noted that the RS promoted its authentic policy in Sarajevo but stressed that the RS “likes Belgrade better than Sarajevo”. He stated he was aware of a stereotype that the RS was a genocidal creation but that he believed that the world was slowly changing its opinion. Dodik believes that the RS is an economically sustainable entity of Bosnia-Herzegovina, even though it has its share of problems, especially when it comes to its pension system.
