Montenegrin daily’s vehicle set on fire

Podgorica-based daily Vijesti’s van was set on fire early on Saturday, the daily has stated.

Podgorica-based daily Vijesti’s van was set on fire early on Saturday, the daily has stated. This is the third time this summer that the daily’s vehicles were set on fire. Montenegrin daily’s vehicle set on fire On July 14-15 two of the daily’s vehicles completely burned down near Vijesti’s headquarters. According to the announcement, the car’s engine, windshield and dashboard were ruined in the last night’s fire. The firemen had arrived to the scene immediately after the fire was reported by citizens. Vijesti Editor in Chief Mihailo Jovovic has assessed that this was “a terrorist act against the media”. Jovovic also believes that the incident has to do with Democratic Party of Socialists of Montenegro (DPS) leader Milo Djukanovic’s statement about the media who criticize the Montenegrin government. Djukanovic told Belgrade-based TV station Kosava that he did not read news articles that criticize him and his family anymore.

On July 14-15 two of the daily’s vehicles completely burned down near Vijesti’s headquarters.

According to the announcement, the car’s engine, windshield and dashboard were ruined in the last night’s fire.

The firemen had arrived to the scene immediately after the fire was reported by citizens.

Vijesti Editor in Chief Mihailo Jovović has assessed that this was “a terrorist act against the media”.

Jovović also believes that the incident has to do with Democratic Party of Socialists of Montenegro (DPS) leader Milo Đukanović’s statement about the media who criticize the Montenegrin government.

Đukanović told Belgrade-based TV station Košava that he did not read news articles that criticize him and his family anymore.
