A high-ranking official of Montenegro's ruling party says Podgorica will not recognize Kosovo before the UN voting on the ICJ resolution. Miodrag Vukovic, of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) on Tuesday told Tanjug that "pressure is being imposed on Montenegro" to recognize Kosovo's unilaterally declared independence. Montenegro "pressured", awaits UN GA “There is pressure and this is nothing new. Montenegro, however, is not being blackmailed by anyone to recognize Kosovo,” said Vukovic, adding that Montenegro is "waiting for things to fall into their place before it decides on the matter". “We will wait to see what the fate of Serbia's initiative in the UN will be, and to see further procedure on the issue. The decision itself, as it has been said many times so far, will be made in keeping with the country's state interests,” Vukovic said in a telephone interview with the news agency. "Montenegro's recognition of Kosovo will take place when conditions for that are met, and we have yet to see when that will be: in a day or two, in a year or two, or in 30 years," said Vukovic.
