“We want to see responsible voices in Bosnia-Hercegovina, that will overcome those that are irresponsible, no matter what happens in Kosovo,“ the assistant secretary for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs told Banja Luka daily Nezavisne Novine today.

Fried added that developments relating to Kosovo should not be exploited to further divide Bosnia-Hercegovina and hamper its progress.

He stressed that under the Dayton Accords, the country’s future was defined to be within the EU and NATO.

“Kosovo’s future has not yet been resolved, but it must be resolved, as it cannot remain as it is now,“ said Fried. “But, Bosnia should not try to solve this, because it has its own issues to deal with,“ said Fried, adding that other countries should assume responsibility for the difficult situation.
