"Unless Macron apologizes for the insolence that his state had arranged, I have absolutely no interest in how and whether he will be welcomed in Belgrade (in December). Personally, if he wishes to address members of the Assembly, I will not attend that session."

All this comes after Sunday's ceremony in Paris to mark 100 years since the end of end of WW1, and the treatment of the Serbian president.

Djukanovic also spoke for Prva TV in Belgrade to say that Macron had expressed his disrespect toward those who liberated us.

"Unless Macron apologizes first, why would I welcome him, why would I welcome him in that session. He expressed a scandalous lack of respect toward those who liberated us, who gave their lives so that, after all, he himself could be free. When we speak about a country (Serbia) that lost 63 percent of its men (in the war), to show such disrespect... why should I respect him," the Serbian MP said.

He added that he "understands (President and SNS leader) Aleksandar Vucic and other high-ranking officials 'not getting angry'," and planning to welcome Macron here.

"We must have good relations to France, I'm not in some responsible function, I have the right to speak my mind, I'm a free citizen on this issue and I have no intention of welcoming him (Macron) if he is in that (Assembly) session," Djukanovic reiterated.
