Serbian PM offers condolences in wake of deadly Mexico quake

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic has sent a telegram of condolences to Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, after a deadly earthquake hit the country.

"We were deeply shaken by the news of a devastating earthquake that hit your country, in which a large number of people were killed and lost their homes," Brnabic wrote.

"On behalf of the government of the Republic of Serbia and myself, I wish all the injured people a quick recovery and a peaceful return to their families. Citizens of Serbia partake in the pain of the friendly people of Mexico," said, and concluded:

"Please convey the expressions of condolences and deepest solidarity to the citizens of Mexico."

The death toll from the M7.1 earthquake was 226 as of Wednesday morning.
