Nikolic dismisses Izetbegovic's appeal over RS Day visit

"Of course I will go there so that we can mark and celebrate that. Serbia and Srpska (RS) have special ties. And I do not accept such blackmailing," Nikolic told the tabloid Kurir, Tanjug reported.

On Wednesday, Izetbegovic urged Nikolic to reconsider his visit to Banja Luka for RS Day celebrations.

"Nikolic should visit Sarajevo in February. As regards his coming to Banjaluka, I would like to ask him publicly to think about that matter. He is always welcome, but for the sake of better relations... he should think about the facts," Izetbegovic told the Sarajevo N1 TV.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina Constitutional Court has abolished January 9 as a holiday, he said.

"It was established it is a discriminatory holiday. No one has anything against the RS or it celebrating the day of its establishment, but it should not be a day that offends other people in that entity," Izetbegovic said.

"I would be glad if he came on another day," he said.
