The purpose will be "to clarify the system of reporting on the country's progress in the recently opened Chapters 23 and 24 of the EU accession talks."

Chapter 23 deals with the judiciary and fundamental rights, while Chapter 24 covers justice, freedom and security.

Addressing a conference at the Tanjug Press Center, Miscevic highlighted the significance of the chapters, adding that, without progress on Chapters 23 and 24, there could be no progress on any other chapter.

"But how will they know if there has been progress? Through the reporting and monitoring system. Half-yearly reports are made through the monitoring mechanism on how much has been done and how many measures have been implemented," she said.

The mission will give a much clearer view of what the reporting will look like, as another control mechanism of our progress towards the EU, she said.
