Vucic vows not to organize referendum on EU

PM-designate Aleksandar Vucic has ruled out the possibility of holding "a referendum on the country's European path," Beta is reporting.

He added that Serbia would "continue to fight to achieve European values."

"We will be on the European path and there will be no referendum here," Vucic said during a business lunch on Monday with members of the U.S. chamber of commerce (AmCham) in Serbia.

Vucic also advised those who are in favor of a referendum "to try in four year's time, when next elections will be held."

Aleksandar Vucic will on Wednesday evening deliver a letter for Vladimir Putin to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who is visiting Serbia.
