Ethnic Hungarian party expects "deal in principle" with SNS

The meeting should produce "a deal in principle," in the wake of Vucic's announcement he would propose Pasztor as president of the Vojvodina Provincial Assembly.
Pasztor held the same office in the previous assembly, dominated by the Democrats (DS), who have now lost power in the province to the SNS.
Pasztor told Tanjug that he "talked with Vucic over the phone the day before and Vucic's statement came out as a result of the conversation."
"We were making it clear during the campaign that we want to continue cooperation with the SNS at the republic (state) level and in several local communities, as well as in the province, and there are no real dilemmas here as far as we are concerned, as we believe that we have had good cooperation at the national level," said Pasztor.
When it comes to SVM's election results at the republic level, Pasztor said that the party expected a better result, but that "four seats are enough for a representative performance in the Serbian parliament."
Pasztor said that it was obvious that the SVM needs to establish cooperation with other deputies in order to set up a parliamentary group.
