Rogozin, known for his strongly-worded statements, especially on Twitter, opened the meeting by making "a personal comment" on the Hague Tribunal's acquittal of Vojislav Seselj - a decision that he said "made him glad."

"I'd put the Hague Tribunal judges in Vojislav Seselj's place, so they can sit in jail for 11 years, and understand how useful that is for one's health. They should have apologized long since for their 'objective' investigation," he said.

The meeting then focused on the agenda and the reason it was organized - namely, Rogozin and Dacic are co-chairs of the Serbian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission. The ministers considered the progress made in the tourism sector cooperation, the possibility of moving the manufacturing of Russian auto-parts from Turkey to Serbia, and the possibility of Serbia's construction industry taking part in Russian projects. Rogozin had only one objection.

"The center in Nis is a humanitarian center and has nothing to do with defense issues. And now, when there's the possibility of a big mine clearing job in Palmyra (Syria), I see great possibilities for the center in Nis - which has not been formalized for the time being. Our position is that the signing of an agreement on the status of (the center's) associates should be sped up, so that it can start doing those jobs it was established to do," said the Russian official.

Rogozin and Dacic spoke with each other using the second person singular - the informal manner of address in both Serbian and Russian. Dacic continued in the informal vein when he presented Rogozin with an unusual gift:

"You know I told you about my pal (Dragan Markovic) Palma, that he has a wax figure museum. Well I brought you this disc, you be the judge of how Putin-like the figure is."

Dacic is currently on a two-day working visit to Moscow, where he on Thursday met with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, and will on Friday meet with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
