Serbia's Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic stated on Thursday that stable security situation has been maintained in the border area despite a drastic increase in the number of migrants, adding there has been no ISIS fighters among the refugees so far.
Stefanovic told members of the parliamentary committee on defense and interior affairs that several refugees had fought on the side of the rebels, but that they had not been on the wanted list.
Presenting a report on the operations of his ministry from July to September 2015, he said that more than 10,000 migrants were registered in that period along the green border, while the number of asylum seekers has went up dramatically - to as many as 117,654.
The minister noted that refugees will not be sent back to Serbia through readmission, in case there is no such possibility in Macedonia or Bulgaria.
