Heinz Miko, a spokesman for the EC in Austria, also said on Tuesday that EU's financial assistance was possible, but only to help solve "the most urgent humanitarian needs."

He told the Vienna daily Presse that "the Serbian government must first inform the EC what this support is needed for specifically."

These comments came after a Serbian parliament official said it was possible the EU would build a center to house as many as 400,000 migrants in Serbia, while the country's labor minister stated this was "neither planned, nor possible."
