Ombudsman has full EU support - commissioner

EU Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn has met with Serbian Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic.

Hahn also met with representatives on NGOs in Belgrade on Thursday.

After the meetings, the EU official posted on his Twitter account that he "stressed EU's full support for Jankovic's important work and full respect of independent bodies."

Hahn added that he had "good exchange of views with NGOs on challenges of accession process, especially in areas of rule of law, and thanked them for their valuable work."

Posting on Twitter, the EU official said that "active engagement of civil society was crucial for inclusiveness of accession process."

Hahn is on a one-day visit to Serbia where he was this morning received by President Tomislav Nikolic.

He also, along with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, took part in the "Reality Check" conference organized by the Foreign Investors Council.


Pristina: Session on special court postponed

The Kosovo assembly has postponed a sitting on constitutional amendments that would allow for a special war crimes court for the former KLA to be formed.
