According to reports, Ala spoke with his Serbian counterpart Nebojša Stefanović.
The Turkish police have obtained the footage from 25 security cameras near the murder site, and statements are being taken from individuals who could identify the perpetrator, the Serbian Interior Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
Ala extended condolences to Ivković's family and the Republic of Serbia, adding that the Turkish police will try to find the perpetrator as soon as possible, the statement said.
The Turkish minister "informed Stefanović that their police have set up two special teams to find the perpetrator of the crime against the Serbian national."
For the sake of good relations between the two countries, it is very important that the perpetrator of the brutal crime be brought to justice as soon as possible "because it is an interest of the Serbian public and the state," Stefanović said.
He thanked his Turkish counterpart for taking personal interest in the case, noting that the communication between the two ministers will continue because Serbia wants to have all investigation-related information.
Marko Ivković was stabbed to death before the Euroleague basketball match between Galatasaray and Red Star Belgrade in Istanbul on November 21.
