Vučić confirmed this and told the newspaper that they spoke about "the manner of work and organization of his cabinet."

Powell was chief of staff to former British Prime Minister Tony Blair from 1997 and 2007 and was during that time also chief British negotiator on Northern Ireland.

Two years ago he admitted that Britain was in 2006 caught spying on Russia, when a fake rock containing electronic surveillance equipment was found in Moscow. He said at the time that Russians knew about the spying for a long time and were saving the case "to use it for political purposes."

Powell also penned a book entitled, "The New Machiavelli: How to Wield Power in the Modern World".
