Vuk Jeremić intends to sign a contract for a consulting position in the China Energy Fund Committee (CEFC), a non-profit NGO think tank based in Hong Kong.

BELGRADE Vuk Jeremic intends to sign a contract for a consulting position in the China Energy Fund Committee (CEFC), a non-profit NGO think tank based in Hong Kong. This will happen in October, the Parliament Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues said at a meeting they held Friday. Jeremic to become consultant in Hong Kong think tank The CEFC is dedicated to research and international cooperation in the fields of energy security, geopolitics and geoeconomics, the parliament committee said. Jeremic informed the committee in writing of his intention to join the CEFC on September 25. Chairman of the Administrative Committee Zoran Babic said that independent MP Jeremic does not hold a permanent position in the parliament and hence the committee is under no obligation to give any positive opinion concerning Jeremic’s performance of other work or activities. Jeremic, who previously served as Serbia's foreign minister and until recently as president of the UN General Assembly, said upon his return from New York to Belgrade that he will establish an institute of international relations and sustainable development. He was a member of the Democratic Party (DS) until its executive board expelled him earlier this year after he refused to resign as MP, despite the now opposition party's new leadership's policy that all its members who had served in the cabinet should resign from parliament.
