BELGRADE Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych on Thursday afternoon laid a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Hero on Mt. Avala, near Belgrade. The ceremony included military and state honors, and the visiting Ukrainian leader was accompanied by the chief of the general staff of the Serbian Army, Gen. Ljubisa Dikovic. Yanukovych lays wreath at Mt. Avala "A flame of memory will always burn in our hearts for the people who gave their lives for the peace and happiness of future generations. Together with the Serbian people, we bow in respect to the fallen heroes," Yanukovych wrote in the memorial book. The Ukrainian president arrived here on Thursday and held a meeting and a joint press conference with his Serbian counterpart, Tomislav Nikolic.
