After an annual report of the European Commission (EC) was presented last week, Belgrade authorities have clearly stated that formulation referring to the respect of “Kosovo’s territorial integrity” is unacceptable. Swedish FM tells Serbia to “forget about Kosovo partition” However, Bildt believes that the Serbian authorities have sent alarming messages about a possible solution to the Kosovo problem. “What is very clear on our side is that the partition of Kosovo is not an option. I have seen that some pretty alarming statements have come from Belgrade. I think that it is important for Belgrade to completely understand that it is an important position. The Swedish FM says that a dialogue between Belgrade and Brussels was underway and that EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule visited Belgrade several days ago and that other contacts between top officials will happen soon. He added that he expected the situation to be much clearer after those meetings.
