The European Parliament (EP) Foreign Affairs Committee MPs started a debate on strategic revision of EULEX’s work on Thursday. EULEX Chief Xavier Bout de Marnhac, EU Civilian Operations Commander Hansjoerg Haber, European External Action Service Direcor Fernando Gentilini and representatives of international NGOs will speak at today’s session. European parliament discusses EULEX The EULEX strategic revision, which was created by EU experts, envisages scaling down the number of EULEX members and shifting the missions focus from police to judicial work. EULEX, which has more than 1,300 international police officers, prosecutors and judges, has often been criticized for its lack of success in combat against organized crime and bringing war criminals to justice.
