President returns VAT law to parliament

President Boris Tadić has returned the amendments to the Law on Value Added Tax (VAT) to the Serbian parliament to be re-evaluated.

He explained that VAT regulations in the 2011 state budget and the amendments to the Law on VAT were inconsistent.

According to the 2011 state budget, VAT on hotel services is eight percent, while the amendments to the Law on VAT envisage 18 percent VAT on those services, the announcement reads.
