ROME, BELGRADE PM Ivica Dacic said Tuesday that an investigation was under way into the wiretapping affair and the incident involving President Tomislav Nikolic's motorcade. "If anyone is found responsible they will answer either before the courts and the Prosecutor's Office, or face sanctions inside the Interior Ministry," Dacic said about the incident on Friday when Nikolic's motorcade was repeatedly intercepted by another car while driving on the highway. PM: Inquiries into wiretapping, highway incident "The investigation is ongoing. We should approach this as we would any other incident regardless of who is involved," Dacic told Serbian reporters in Rome. "In any case, there are services in charge of handling this and the investigation is independent from all media coverage," said the prime minister. When it comes to "the tapping of phones" belonging to Nikolic and Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, Dacic recalled that an official investigation was under way. "The official investigation investigation will determine whether their phone listings were taken. The Interior Ministry's internal affairs department is also involved in the investigation. I have not been informed whether the investigations have been completed, so I will see where they are at when I return to Serbia," said the prime minister. B92 learned on Tuesday unofficially that the police were still looking for the written order requesting the list of phone calls made by top state officials. The police are saying that they "did not have this paper in their possession from the start", also noting that it was necessary for an investigation into the case "to be made concrete". Official information is also still awaited on the highway incident. Ivica Dacic and Aleksandar Vucic are seen during a cabinet session last week (Tanjug, file) B92 Tanjug
