Fule, who was in Pristina on the occasion of the International Steering Groups (ISG) announcement that Kosovo's "supervised independence" had ended, also called on the Kosovo authorities to "engage constructively with Serbia". EU official on "Kosovo engaging with Serbia" In his opening address at a ceremonial dinner, he voiced the European Commission's support for "Kosovo's European future", and pointed out that "reforms need to continue". Fule also spoke about Commission's engagement with Kosovo where, as he put it, considerable progress was made in a number of areas in the last few months. From now on, the EU will be more present than absent from Kosovo, Fule said. He urged "Kosovo leaders to reach a consensus on upcoming challenges in terms of necessary reforms, engage constructively with Serbia, and reach all communities in Kosovo". When it comes to north Kosovo - where Serbs form a majority, and reject both the unilateral declaration of independence made by ethnic Albanians in early 2008, and the authority of the government in Pristina - Fule underlined that this was "still a challenge", adding that the EU was "ready to support all sides in the resolution of this issue so that further progress could be made through dialogue". "In order to achieve success, key leaders of all Kosovo communities need to work on creation of a joint vision and future," Fule said. He called on "all people in Kosovo to come together and unite so as to secure Kosovo's further constructive engagement with Serbia with a view to progress of both Kosovo and Serbia on their EU pathways". Addressing the ISG decision on Monday, Serbia's PM Ivica Dacic said that the country finds "any kind" of independence of its southern province - supervised or unsupervised - "unaccaptable".
