Vuk Jeremic says that the UN General Assembly session was delayedbecause Kosovo Albanians showed up in the hall despite the fact that they were not invited. The Serbian Foreign Minister said that the Serbian representatives had requested the Kosovo Albanians to leave the hall, but that they had refused to do so, reminding that the Kosovo delegation was not invited to enter by the UN member-states. Dispute delayed UN session two hours According to the Jeremic, the dispute was resolved after five countries, the U.S., Germany, Great Britain, Italy and France, invited the representatives of the Kosovo Albanians as guests. During the session, members of the Kosovo delegation, Hashim Thaci, Skender Hyseni and Fatmir Sejdiu, were seated in the gallery, in seats reserved for guests and observers. Prior to the session, Kosovo Foreign Minister Skender Hyseni stated that Kosovo representatives attending the UN General Assembly session would not leave their seats as Serbia had requested. Hyseni told Pristina-based RTV 21 that he had explicitly informed UN General Assembly Chairman Ali Abdussalam Treki of Libya about the Kosovo delegation’s position that they would not leave the seats which they had been given in accordance with the UN's protocol. He also said that Treki had expressed understanding for such a position. The Kosovo FM said that the behavior of the Serbian representatives was a “diplomatic scandal” reminiscent of those occuring during the Cold War. Four TV stations covering the entire territory of Kosovo were broadcasting the events in the UN General Assembly live on Thursday night.
