They will also talk generally about the referendum and about the continuation of Montenegro’s EU association process.

Solana’s spokesperson Christina Gallach said that Solana will tell Đukanović that the EU will honour the will of the Montenegrin citizens, but that all filed appeals regarding the referendum must be honoured legally and investigated. The EU has called on all parties to recognise the results of the referendum.

Solana will also tell Đukanović that the EU will offer assistance in creating and maintaining dialogue between Belgrade and Podgorica if necessary.

There will also be a roundtable discussion held in the Centre for European Politics on the topic of “What next, after the Montenegrin referendum?” in which Đukanović will participate.
