Belgrade: Policeman kills suspect during arrest

A police officer shot and killed a suspect early on Sunday, in front of the Akustik tavern in Cara Dusana Street in Belgrade.

The suspect, 27-year-old L.M., previously shot at the tavern's owner, 33-year-old J.S., wounding him, and at the police, the Interior Ministry said in a brief statement on Sunday.

The MUP said that a member of the Belgrade police shot and killed the suspect during an attempt to arrest him, and added that the police were investigating "all the circumstances and facts related to this event."

Unofficial accounts of the incident said that J.S. was ejected from the tavern after he made death threats toward its staff and guests, but that he soon returned, shot the owner, and was later killed by the police in the street in front of the establishment.


Suspect questioned for assaulting TV reporter

The Higher Public Prosecution in Belgrade on Monday questioned D.V., a suspect in an incident involving an assault on a TV Pink journalist.
