Electronic media, the newspaper continued, published only short news items and did not go into the details of the incident, referred to as "an assassination."

According to Vecernje Novosti, both Stojkovic and Jusufovic were "known to the police" for their involvement in drug trafficking. The pair's dossiers state that they were also detained for theft and robbery. The Belgrade underworld considered members of the Rakovica Clan to be "the heirs" of that led by Zoran Uskokovic aka Skole.

According to police findings, they had close ties with Montenegrin criminal gangs.

After getting arrested in 2003 during a police operation dubbed "Saber" - launched in the wake of the assassination of Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic - Stojkovic and Jusufovic, along with six other members of the crime group, stood accused of the murders of Miroslav Sekulovic and Veselin Bozovic aka Vesko.

In February 2006, they were found guilty and sentenced to a total of 63 years in prison - 6.5 of which was to be served by Stojkovic. However, he was released pending the final verdict.

An investigation was launched against Stojkovic again in 2009, when the police found a pistol in his apartment in Belgrade's central Vracar municipality, that was in his possession illegally. Previously, in May the same year, he was sentenced a second time, to six years in prison, for drug trafficking, robbery, illegal possession of weapons, and extortion.

In April 2010, Stojkovic was arrested in downtown Belgrade in his car, after the police blocked an entire city quarter. Stojkovic and his driver elected not to stop when instructed by the police, and instead drove their car "into the officers."

The article concludes by stating that "in recent years" Stojkovic and Jusufovic turned to legal businesses: they invested in real estate, and "in football."
