Knife-wielding female taxi robbers arrested in Belgrade

The police in Belgrade announced on Tuesday that they arrested a 31-year-old woman, whose initials are J.J., for a string of robberies targeting taxis.

The police added that they identified a second suspect, also a woman, and are currently looking for her.

The pair are suspected of threatening a taxi driver with a knife and stealing RSD 35,000 from him. The incident happened on Monday in Belgrade's Mirijevo neighborhood.

They are also suspected of robbing two other cabbies in October 2016, also using a knife to threaten them, and escaping with a total of RSD 23,000.

One of the drivers was lightly injured during the October incidents.


MICT to consider prosecution's appeal in Seselj case

The Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals (MICT) will on Wednesday hold a hearing on the prosecution appeal against the verdict in the Seselj trial.
