Police seize over 650,000 packets of cigarettes

The Interior Ministry (MUP) said this was "one of the largest hauls of cigarettes in Serbia in the past decade." Last year, "a record total of some 2 million packets" was found and confiscated, a statement said.

The cigarettes seized today were found in makeshift storage spaces in Belgrade and Subotica, without excise stamps and accompanying documentation, while the rest was discovered while in transport, in three cars and two vans.
