Belgrade-based daily Vecernje Novosti said the incident happened as about 50 residents of these two Serb enclaves in Metohija were returning from Kosovska Mitrovica.

The newspaper reported this on its website, quoting Orahovac municipal employee Dejan Baljosevic as saying that "Albanian children lined along the road at the exit of Kosovska Mitrovica threw stones and icy snowballs at the bus, breaking the windshield."

Later, near the town of Vucitrn, when the driver stopped to report the incident, he and the passengers were harassed by the police, Baljosevic said.

"First they interrogated him about not reporting the attack right away and because he was driving with a broken windshield," he said.
