4.5 kilos of heroin seized on Serbia-Croatia border

The Serbian Interior Ministry (MUP) announced on Tuesday that nearly 4.5 kilograms of heroin had been seized at the Batrovci border crossing with Croatia.

The drugs were found in a Ford car driven by a 35-year-old Turkish national, who had a 66-year-old Frenchman traveling with him.

The police said that the drugs - amounting to four kilograms and 402 grams - were found in nine packages hidden in the vehicle.

The two foreign citizens are currently being held in police custody that can last up 48 hours, on suspicion of committing the crime of manufacturing and trafficking narcotics.
