The incident happened during the 37-year-old's trial on charges of domestic violence.

The policeman, who was taken to the Emergency Center unconscious, was a witness in the trial.

The defendant, who is also known as "Tasmanian Devil," has been returned to jail and will face a fresh criminal complaint for today's assault, daily Blic writes.

Djurasinovic was arrested on February 23 for attacking his wife and two underage sons, threatening to "burn them all."

The police found a pistol in the bushes in front of his home in Belgrade's Mirijevo district. It is suspected that the weapon belongs to Djurasinovic; however, this is yet to be confirmed by forensic experts.
