"Grave crimes committed against Serbs in Drina region"

This comments on Thursday came after the Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation against former commander of the Muslim forces of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina Naser Orić and four other suspects for the murder of ten Serb civilians in Zalažje, Donji Potočari, in the municipality of Srebrenica on July 12, 1992.

Vučić expressed his expectation that "all those who committed crimes would be brought to justice," and refuted Orić's allegations that Serbia was "conducting a campaign against him."

Vučić noted that the Serbian Prosecutor's Office believes it has sufficient evidence to launch the proceedings, and recalled that it was unequivocally established that grave crimes were clearly committed against Serbs in many areas in the territory of eastern Bosnia, from Srebrenica to Zvornik.

He said that the trial is very important for the entire region “regardless of the outcome”, and underscored that he does not believe it extends to Bosniaks as a nation and is rather directed at Bosniak individuals who committed crimes against Serbs.

Vučić said that Serbia has so far "primarily tackled crimes committed by Serbs and has thus demonstrated that it wants individuals who committed crimes to answer for their deeds instead of having the crimes ascribed to the nation as a whole."
