Judge who gave Mišković back his passport "replaced"

BELGRADE Special Court Judge Vladimir Vucinic is no longer president of the Special Department of the Higher Court, the daily Politika has reported. The judge will however continue to head the trial for Delta Holding owner Miroslav Miskovic, who is accused of corruption, as well as those concerning the murder of Croatian journalist Ivo Pukanic, and the JSO unit mutiny. Judge who gave Miskovic back his passport "replaced" The judge was recently in the public spotlight after he decided to temporarily reinstate Miskovic's passport, allowing him to briefly leave the country. The newspaper reported that the decision to replace Vucinic as the department's president was made by all the judges of that department, while the "new yearly schedule" was announced by Acting President of the Higher Court Aleksandar Stepanovic. Previously, Vucinic turned to the High Judiciary Council and said he was under pressure over his decision related to Miskovic. According to Politika, he complained that Stepanovic asked him to recall that decision, which Vucinic refused, saying it was legal and brought according to an appraisal of the case. Vucinic confirmed this for the daily, but did not wish to comment on the reasons for being replaced.
