Kosovska Mitrovica Health Center’s surgeon Ljubiša Milošević told Tanjug that the teenagers were successfully recovering and that they would probably be discharged in the next several days.

The two teenagers were stabbed in the back with a knife in the neighborhood of Bošnjačka mahala on Saturday.

Two suspects, charged with attempted murder, were released soon after they had been arrested.

Kosovo Police Deputy Regional Director Ergin Medić neither denied nor confirmed that the suspects were ethnic Albanians.

“The two suspects have been released pending trial by the prosecutor even though they are suspected of attempted murder by the Kosovo police,” he told Tanjug.

Medić added that 17-year-old D.K. and 18-year-old B.S. were arrested.

He noted that the police had found the knife used in the attack.

The Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo has strongly condemned the attack on the two teenagers.
