Man arrested for ripping Serbian flag

Police have arrested Fitim Z. from the southern Serbian town of Preševo on suspicion that he ripped the Serbian flag.

He has been taken to an investigative judge in Vranje.

Fitim Z. is suspected of taking down the flag from the Preševo municipal building and tearing it up.

According to a police announcement, the arrested man is one of the suspects who took down the Serbian flag from the municipal building and ripped it on November 28, the day when ethnic Albanians celebrate the Albanian national holiday - Albanian Flag Day.

The suspect has been remanded in custody for eight days.
