Group arrested for trafficking drugs from S. America

Several persons have been placed under arrest in Serbia, Macedonia and Croatia for trafficking narcotics from South America.

Several persons have been placed under arrest in Serbia, Macedonia and Croatia for trafficking narcotics from South America. 170 kilograms of cocaine were seized in the Greek port of Thessaloniki. Group arrested for trafficking drugs from S. America The Serbian Organized Crime Prosecution, BIA and the Service for Combating Organized Crime said they coordinated with the authorities in Greece and Macedonia to arrest nine suspects. The confiscated drugs were meant to be sold in Serbia and in western Europe. The statement said that Darko Simovic, Zivko Vujisic, Nikola Radmanovic, Milan Ivanisevic, Djordje Mehovic, Bojan Obrenovic, Milovan Mickovic and Todor Ucukalo were arrested in Serbia, while Nikolce Necevski was detained in Macedonia. The group is suspected of buying cocaine in South America during the past two years, to resell it in Serbia and in western Europe. The drugs were arriving to the Thessaloniki port on board ships. The organizers from Serbia hid the latest, 78-percent pure cocaine shipment inside a machine used to extract soy oil. A Macedonian company was the buyer of the machine. The statement said that the pre-criminal proceedings included activities of the three countries and American and British anti-drug agencies, as well as the regional SECI center in Bucharest.

The statement said that Darko Simović, Živko Vujisić, Nikola Radmanović, Milan Ivanišević, Đorđe Mehović, Bojan Obrenović, Milovan Mićković and Todor Ućukalo were arrested in Serbia, while Nikolče Nečevski was detained in Macedonia.
