Police have arrested four persons suspected of abuse of office and incurring EUR 3mn worth of damages to the Maize Research Institute Zemun Polje. Interior Minister Ivica Dacic has confirmed the information to B92. Four persons arrested for abuse of office Institute Director Goran Saratlic, Commercial Director Branimir Krkljus, Poljokom company Director Stojan Djordjevic and civil engineering court expert Dima Trajkovic were arrested. Saratlic delivered RSD 209mn worth of goods to the Poljokom company regardless of the company’s debts and blocked bank accounts. As a pawn he accepted the company’s pledge statement which had been intentionally enlarged by Trajkovic. Therefore the suspects incurred EUR 3mn worth of damages to the Maize Research Institute Zemun Polje and the Poljokom company gained the same amount of unlawful profit.
