Naser A. from Skopje, Macedonia, was arrested after trying to smuggle eight Albanian citizens who entered Serbia illegally. The suspect was attempting to traffick his clients from from Bujanovac in southern Serbia to Subotica in the north, said Serbian police (MUP). Man arrested for trafficking Albanians Naser A. was arrested when he caused a traffic accident, according to police in the town of Sremska Mitrovica, north of Belgrade. The families of the illegal passengers were supposed to pay EUR 3,500 to an unknown organizer from Kosovo once they got to Italy safely. It was confirmed that Naser A. had bought illegal license plates in Kosovo as well. Also, 4.7 grams of a powder that resembles heroin was found in his possession, said police. The Sremska Mitrovica District Court investigative judge remanded the suspect in custody for 30 days. The Albanians that are of age will be serving 15 days in prison for crossing the border illegally, while the minors were taken to a youth center in Belgrade.

It was confirmed that Naser A. had bought illegal license plates in Kosovo as well.
