Material damage incurred during Tuesday’s clashes in central Belgrade will reach about EUR 37,500. Belgrade communal services said that 5,000 season flowers had been damaged, and two benches broken. Dragomir Spasic, the managing director at Belgrade Roads, said that five traffic-lights, seven flashing signs, two signposts, as well as other traffic equipment had been smashed, and that the estimated damage was around EUR 8,000. Windows at the Belgrade Cultural Centre and the adjacent bookstore were broken, with damages estimated to be EUR 1,250. Several banks, cutlery stores, exchange offices, hair salons, bakeries, billboards and kiosks were also damaged. The windows of a sports shop in the city center were also broken, and across the street a porcelain shop lost part of its stock, including glass plates, glasses and cutlery that were in the window. Vesna Dramlic , the sports shop manager, said that three windows would have to be replaced, and that one window alone cost around EUR 500. It was the same situation across the street in the porcelain shop. “It’s terrible, what else can I say. They’ve trashed everything and stolen whatever they could lay their hands on,” said Pedja, the shop owner. The scenes on Tuesday night (FoNet)
