A member of the Kosovo police has been shot and killed in Pristina Thursday. This was confirmed by Kosovo Police Service (KPS) spokesman Veton Elshani. Kosovo: Policeman shot dead The officer, identified as Triumf Riza, was wounded in the Dardania neighborhood, only to be pronounced dead as he was transported to a Pristina clinic, Elshani explained. According to him, Riza was a member of "an elite KPS unit", which is deployed as security for Pristina's high ranking officials. Elshani said Riza was not on duty when as yet unidentified shooter or shooters wounded him fatally. The motive for the murder is still unknown, according to the same source. Meanwhile, police blocked the scene and the neighborhood, as well as access roads to Pristina.
