Brnabic also announced a full commitment to reforms in the field of the rule of law, which are important for both citizens and the economy, and where not enough has been done until now because of the need to work on reforms in other areas.

She said that EUR 8 billion were invested in Serbia in the past five years, which is proof of how far Serbia has progressed and expressed gratitude to all those who believed in Serbia and showed trust in our country.

According to her, we need to focus on three key pillars, which are the economy, public administration and the rule of law.

She recalled that the Serbian government has managed to achieve macroeconomic stability and fiscal consolidation, and said that fiscal discipline will continue, especially in the area of public administration.

We have also managed to reduce the public debt and reverse the situation, Brnabic underlined, adding that she has great respect for the Foreign Investors Council and for everyone who has chosen Serbia as their business destination.

According to her, "we had the best results so far on the World Bank's Doing Business List since we are 43rd out of 190 countries."

It is the third consecutive year that we are improving our position on this list, which is an indicator that we are implementing reforms. We have also advanced 12 places on the Global Competitiveness Index of the World Economic Forum, Brnabic pointed out.

She recalled that two weeks ago the World Bank declared Serbia the leading country in Southeast Europe according to the criteria of implementing reforms, with the assessment that this is a great success.

The prime minister also stated that Serbia is currently in the first place on the basis of performance indexes for Greenfield investments by the Financial Times, saying that the reforms will continue.

She explained that the Tax Administration will be restructured by delegating to our bodies the operations that are not of crucial importance for this institution.

The Prime Minister expressed her expectation that in 2018, VAT refund to those who are entitled to it will be more efficient, that the inspection supervision will be strengthened and that the e-inspector project will be implemented.

The Prime Minister said that e-government and e-services are the key to fighting corruption, which will be the focus in the next two years, and announced that Serbia will launch the first electronic payments for the services provided by the state by the end of November.
