UEPS awards given to best creators in marketing

The transformation process that started a few years ago this year reached its culmination.

A total of 20 gold, 28 silver and 30 bronze awards were presented in 18 categories and 22 subcategories. This year, for the first time, on the proposal of creative directors from member agencies, special awards were also presented for the best copy, art direction, music, directing and producing.

The Steering Board of the Association this year also launched the “Discovery” award, which will be awarded to those who are not dealing with communications in a professional capacity, but in a way address the public through original ideas.

At the beginning of the ceremony the audience was addressed by the President of UEPS Viktor Nikolic, CEO of Beoexpo System, summarizing the activities of the association during the year. He pointed out that the results were achieved through positive synergy of all in the Steering Board and the Association.

Veljko Golubovic, regional creative director of FCB Afirma, who chaired the jury, briefly commented on the entries, welcoming the initiative of the Association to have creative assessing the quality of entries.

During the ceremony, Veran Matic, president of the board of directors of B92 and B92 Fund president, announced that B92 is the official representative of the Cannes Lions, Eurobest, Dubai Lynx and SPIKES Asia advertising festivals, and that they are organizers of the Serbia Young Lions 2017 competition, where the reward for winners is the trip to the competition in Cannes, in June next year. He invited young advertising professionals to apply for the competition Serbia Young Lions 2017 and added that next year a number of interesting activities can be expected, which would be related to the UEPS Awards.

Awards were handed by the President and members of the jury, chairman and members of the Board of UEPS. In addition, Lazar Sakan who together with his brother Zarko continues the legacy of their father, presented the Dragan Sakan Award to this year’s winner. The award was given to the agency McCann Belgrade for their work ARt, the largest virtual exhibition of all time, done for the client Museum of Contemporary Art Belgrade.

Misa Lukic, CEO of Publicis One for Central and Eastern Europe, laureate of the UEPS Lifetime Achievement Award, in the finale if the ceremony presented the Grand Prix to this year’s winner, agency FCB Afirma, for their campaign Telenor Bank ATM, done for Telenor Bank.

Agency of the Year is New Moment New Ideas Company.

Advertiser of the Year is Telenor Bank.

This year’s plaques and statuettes were made by Ivan Arandjelovic, creative director of Design Studio Ivan Aran.
