The cabinet of the city's chief urban planner, Milutin Folic, made the announcement, saying this is envisaged in the rulebook on the mandatory appearance of kiosks and stalls.

A statement said that the rules refer to the changes that should be implemented by the end of 2016 in Belgrade's central municipalities, and will receive an annex covering other areas of the capital, within the same time frame.

Based on the rulebook approved by the mayor, the kiosks will be "cuboid-shaped, with a rectangular base, and windows oriented in two directions."

All kiosks must also have refrigerating units and ice cream freezers.

Stalls will have to be folding and mobile, both types rectangular in shape.
