The officials "discussed the two countries' cooperation in the field of communications," Tanjug reported.

The agreement " would enable Serbian and Iraqi companies to jointly participate in tenders in Iraq," Ljajic said.

"We are also interested in exporting telecommunications equipment to the Iraqi market and, for that reason, a delegation will visit two cable factories in Jagodina and Novi Sad," he said.

It was agreed that a business forum of telecommunications companies be held by the end of the year, Ljajic said, adding that Serbia plans to make a return to the large Iraqi market.

Also discussed was cooperation among state-owned companies, as well as in the private sector, Al Rashid said.

There are many areas where cooperation is possible, in particular in rebuilding Iraqi infrastructure, said Al Rashid, adding that cooperation between the Serbian and Iraqi postal companies is possible as well.

He urged Serbian companies to work in Iraq, which he said is considerably more stable now amid improved security, and noted that there are many possibilities to engage in the rebuilding of the country.
