Kori Udovicki said on Friday an analysis of the locations and numbers of redundant employees in public administration would be completed in one month.

Analysis of redundancy in administration "soon"

"It is going to be a comprehensive analysis. We are working hard on it and have obtained the first results," she told Radio and Television of Serbia.

Udovicki denied that there had been any intention of coming out with a plan for a rationalization of employees in the administration this year, adding that it was a process that required more than a year to complete and would be done in stages.

A good portion of the reduction of employees in the public sector will happen through people leaving on their own, she pointed out.

Filling out the spots that will have to remain open even after those people leave will be a challenge, and it has to be done by moving people from those parts of the administration where there are redundancies, the minister explained.

Commenting on a bill on salary categories, announced earlier, she said that it should be done by the end of March and that it would then be used a the basis for talks with all interested parties.
