Serbia registers 3.6 percent real GDP drop in Q3

Seasonally adjusted data indicates a 1.1-percent GDP drop in the second and third quarters of 2014, respectively, compared to the preceding quarters, the statistical office said in a statement on Friday.

By sectors, compared to the corresponding period of last year, gross value added dropped in real terms in Q3 in the industry and in water supplies and waste water management by 11.9 percent, respectively, in the construction sector (6.4 percent) and in the financial and insurance sectors (3.0 percent).

A 3.2-percent growth of gross value added was registered in the IT and communications sector, the office said.
