Reconstruction of energy, road and railway infrastructure, as well as residential buildings, will be the priority, state secretary with the ministry Dejan Trifunović explained in a statement to reporters after Monday's meeting with representatives of professional institutions expected to take part in the rebuilding effort.

By May 30, the local authorities will submit preliminary damage inventories for each municipality that has been hit by the floods, Trifunović announced.

Afterwards, experts will assess the damage on the ground based on strictly defined methodology and facts, he said.

For each building, there will be video footage, photographic images and a text description of the damage with accurate facts, he said.

The damage assessment will involve hundreds of experts, Trifunović said.

He also said that a damage assessment commission and an office for coordinating relief aid have been formed in Serbia in the wake of the floods.

The meeting was attended by representatives of technical faculties and Roads of Serbia and Corridors of Serbia public enterprises, as well as other professional institutions under the authority of the ministry.
