The explanatory screening for Chapter 11 dealing with agriculture and rural development is being held in Brussels from Tuesday to Thursday.

Screening on agriculture, rural development begins

The Serbian delegation comprises officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and other relevant institutions. The delegation is led by Serbia's chief negotiator Tanja Miščević and State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture Danilo Golubovic who heads the negotiating group for Chapter 11.

During the explanatory screening, European Commission officials from the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI) and Directorate-General For Enlargement (DG Enlargement) are presenting fundamental elements of the EU Acquis in the field of agriculture and rural development to the Serbian delegation, as well as rules and principles governing the EU's Common Agricultural Policy, including the latest reform.

During the three-day screening, meetings from Brussels will be streamed live for representatives of the civil society, economy, ministry of science and other interested parties in the premises of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

During the three-day live stream, businessmen and other participants will be able to learn more about the regulations relating to horizontal issues, i.e. financial and administrative structure as part of the Common Agricultural Policy- state assistance, incentives, direct payments, production-related payments, book-keeping method for homesteads, said special advisor to the PKS president Dušanka Samardžić.

The next bilateral screening for Chapter 11- Agriculture and Rural Development will be held in Brussels from May 14-16, the release notes.
