This year's Kopaonik Business Forum, the 21st in a row, begins on Tuesday in the mountain resort of Mt. Kopaonik and will last until March 6.

Kopaonik Business Forum begins

On the first day of the gathering Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dačić will address the participants in the Kopaonik convention center and deliver the keynote address on the topic of "Geopolitical positioning and a review of macroeconomic developments in early 2014" the Serbian government said.

The Forum is organised by the Serbian Association of Economists (SES) and the Serbian Association of Corporate Directors and the general sponsor is the Serbian prime minister. According to the announcement issued by the event organizers, the Forum will gather around 500 participants and will feature 11 panel and five plenary discussions.

The intent of the forum is to encourage experts and businessmen to propose ways to improve the state of the national economy, and the first day will address issues as to how to maintain macroeconomic stability and improve efficiency of the financial sector, announced SES President Aleksandar Vlahović.

The second day of the forum will deal with the EU integration process, reforms in public companies, young entrepreneurs, and foreign and domestic investors will comment on the reform agenda, he said, adding that the third day will discuss agricultural development and implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA).

As organizers said, attendance at the Forum was confirmed by Governor of the National Bank of Serbia Jorgovanka Tabaković, Finance Minister Lazar Krstić, Energy Minister Zorana Mihajlović, Minister of Agriculture Dragan Glamočić, Minister of Economy Igor Mirović, President and member of the Fiscal Council Pavle Petrović and Vlada Vučković respectively, president of the NBS Council of the Governor Nebojša Savić, Chairman of the Securities Commission Zoran Ćirović.

Participants of a special panel will be seven ambassadors from the EU, United States and Russia, as well as officials of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and World Bank, Vlahović said.

The Tanjug news agency is this year again the media partner of the Kopaonik Business Forum.
